All bills have constantly increased, yet we are expected to do magic tricks with with our very static income. If we can save we get penalized for managing to save too much, we get penalized if we own things. A lot of us can't work to make the extra we are allowed and for a lot of us our lives all ready feel like a punishment. We didn't choose to be hurt or sick and/or have a severe disability, but with no increase some of us feel like we are being punished by the government we look to to help us. Please increase our income.

After paying bills I don’t have any money for food or clothes. And there is definitely no money for my support dog.

Living on the low side of poverty is not fun, $1588 is not enough for a person like me who will soon be going on Dialysis, and becoming a diabetic just recently and also needing a Cpap machine to survive as I will have to fight with AISH to pay for the machine because I just dont have that kind of money to purchase this said machine. So Alberta Government Rachel Notley this is for you as the premiere of Alberta I am kindly asking you to please up our AISH to what the immigrants get its sad that they receive more when landing in here in Canada it is disgraceful to a true born Canadian. So Rachel I beg of you to do something right before your term ends as premier of Alberta. I also challenge you to live for 6 months on $1588.00 per month and let us know how you survived as a single person with no children prove to us how this can be achieved.

I am not on AISH because of my own doing. I have a rare neurological condition that does not allow me to work. Very grateful that AISH is there, however, providing income that is above the poverty line wold be more helpful. When AISH comes in every month, it is pretty much spent as soon as it hits the bank account, leaving nothing to live off for the rest of the month.

It's hard raising a family of 3 kids ranging from ages 13 ,10, and 11month old I get the 1,588$ plus a 100$ for each independent which comes to 1,888$ after food rent and bills I'm left with about 100$ in my pocket if I'm lucky I would be grateful even if they gave an extra 500$ so it could take less stress off my shoulders

Every other government benefit increases with the cost of living but not AISH. Why not? Do we not matter? I did not choose to become ill but illness does not discriminate. I had a bright future ahead when MS hit me. I lost my job, lost my friends, lost my dignity. And now I live far below the poverty level, wishing every day to have my former life back, wondering how I will make ends meet this month. This is no life. We are the forgotten. Left behind because we are of no use to the healthy, But anyone's health could also change in the snap of a finger just as mine did. Maybe then they will understand our dilemna. Please help us. We are drowning here!!

I am sick sick sick of being poor! The province of Alberta should be embarrassed to be providing such a low amount as $1,588 to their disabled population. I challenge you to try it! Living on such an amount cannot be done with any dignity.

My husband is on AISH and i am his care taker and unable to work without it taking money off his checks. What we get is only barely enough for the both of us to live and thats EVEN with getting minimal help from both sides of the family. AISH needs to step up.

I truly believe as well that the 1588 a month is not enough to pay for rent and all other expenses and Bill's in edmonton. I'm usually left with nothing left at the end of the month and so for food I have to eat usually bread with butter or bowl of green beans. :(....

I have been on AISH for almost twenty years and have been working for almost 12 years. Even when working it is extremely tough because of the employment exemption which has not been since 2005 which is still sitting at $800.00. Just last week I did not get my AISH cheque because I "supposedly" went over the amount 1900.00 which was bs because I did not. So working class aish recipients have it just as hard as those living fully on AISH. On average my AISH income before the allowed exempt is roughly around $300.00 and my income from work is roughly around $300 - $500.00 biweekly which is okay but AISH is a complete joke even for those who work
