both my sons were born with a disability my youngest is 18 my old is 36 he lives at home because if he rented a place he would never make ends meet. he pays some of the bills and some of the rent and food and he still has some left over for himself this way :)

It's disgraceful how AISH hasn't increased. We're already sick, and then we have to worry constantly about money. $18000 a year is not livable.

I feel strongly about increasing the cost of living for Aish reciepients.i have been on Aish for 18 years and wish I didn’t have to feel worthless because I am not allowed to achieve poverty line status.i didn’t choose to be mentally ill but I feel punished for it every month when I attempt to survive on what I receive.

Amen, I struggle and struggle, and Aish gets my overdue bills and unpaid rent forms....if they paid proper this wouldn't happen. I just foodbank to feed my kids, and sell off personal belongings to help.

I am careful with my money. I raise and grow as much of my own food as I can. Rather than buying new things I make or repair as much of what I need as i can. Yet it feels like the past couple years I've been falling farther and farther behind financially, and it's getting harder to find a way out.

RAISE OUR AISH

I'm tired of having to ask my parents for extra help with money every month because I don't have enough to even last 2 weeks after payment. Please increase our AISH pay! Keeping it this way is murdering innocents who starve because of not having enough to eat every month.

It's time to increase wages above minum wage.

We hear about how difficult it is to live on the upcoming minimum wage, and I fully agree. However, to expect those of us who are in the state of living with a severe disability to survive on $800 less per month is just wrong. It's bad enough that only some of the life saving meds are covered (meaning we must rob our budgets to pay for the meds), but to continue to increase minimum wages while AISH hasn't seen an increase since 2012 is taking it to a new level.

I am thankful that AISH has been available. Please increase our income. The last increase was in 2012.

There is no way I can do this!! I have sold everything I own...am on the verge of eviction every month....and that is with housing! I have a son who is a dependant and even though he is 18 he can't work. enough. How can you raise everything and leave us to die?

Things in alberta especially are increasing, and things like the caron tax dont really help us since it causes other things to go up in price and also the minimum wage increases are a great idea however some businesses are lowering their hours, so either way, even the 1588 for a single with no dependents is just barely getting us by. even a 200 dollar increase to some of us is a fortune and can go a long way for us.

We have not had an increase since Redford, and everything is going up substantially every year. We did not ask to be put in the position we are in, and I am tired of Albertans, and in particular, Kenney and his gang and followers blaming us for being in AISH because we can't work anymore. Maybe it needs to be tied to the raise POLITICIANS give themselves every year, after it's hiked to $1700, or a better way, anyone on AISH is automatically qualified for a Rent Subsidy in their area (or the cash equivalent. One more thing. ALL drugs must be covered...not just the ones they feel like covering (Invokana is not covered).
