INCREASE OUR AISH

I am signing this petion as a plea to have AISH increased from 1588.00 per month to 2300.00 per month. The reason why is that aish recipients such as myself have a hard time finding work and maintaining employment. Because of lack of education and experience, so individuals with disabilities are only able to find employment working in retail. Depending on their disablity, individuals are unfairly laid off due to discrimination in the work place or they quit due to the underlying stress the job entails on their bodies that includes working long hours, not enough breaks and the precipitation of them being lazy. Imagine being unemployed and having to pay for rent, utilities, bus fair, cab fair, food with very little left to buy yourself house cleaning supplies, clothes, money to save for the future (like buying a house) or money to travel via greyhound, or to see a movie, maybe go to a concert... When done buying what you need, you're broke which causes a person with a disability to have more stress then what they need...please...please...increase the aish payments!!!!

I would like to have the money to save! Not live from check to check! With the little amount of money given? It's gone with rent, travel expenses, groceries, female things, possibly clothing! This works out to alot of money which i do not have!

I applied for Aish and it takes about a year I live with my girlfriend and they said I'm not entitled to any benefits that she has to support me until I'm approved for Aish so what do I do until then if you have any ideas please feel free to comment we're going without food to pay the rent and some bills can't pay them all

Not sure how our government is okay with our most vulnerable members of society - who can't work through no fault of their own - being expected to live below the poverty level.

I'm on Aish and my partner is applying for Aish so I gave to support him on my Aish until he get on his which can take up to a year that's how long it took me. How do they expect me to support two of us on my Aish when I can't even make it on my own. There has to be help for people when there applying for Aish but I try everything I could think of and we couldn't find any help and my rent is 1300 and my check 1588 and that's for to do how do we make it until he gets his Aish so please increase Aish and speed up the process would be well appreciated if anyone has any ideas feel free to commen

It is damn near impossible to survive on this income, bills and rent kill 70% right off the start. Other departments get tons of support, all of this money is used back in the market so why would there be resistance it all gets taxed again.

No increase in 5 years despite costs of living going up? How would the MLAs feel about not getting a raise for 5 years? We wish we were fully able to work; fully able to earn a living. Unfortunately that is not the case. We deserve to be respected just like any other Albertan! Increase our AISH!

Nobody can live off of 1588 a month and then if u worked and got laid off and go to ei they take half off the 1588 off of your check to live off of when it should be the same exemtion as if it were employment income

I moved from Calgary to the rural areas and I am barely making it. The area that I live in decided last May to increase the sewer/water fee 50.00. And now with the Bogus Carbon Tax my gas bill has increased about 30.00 and I'm still using the same amount as before and I live alone. I don't have cable/satellite TV, don't drink alcohol, don't do drugs and I don't smoke and I don't have a vehicle either so I rely on others to take me places, And what's left over after all of that, I buy food. However, I do have added expenses because of my disability and Aids to Daily Living will only cover part of the cost for my disability and then I have to pay out of my pocket for any other things that's necessary to aid me with my disability. It's time for our governments, Provincial or Federal, to start helping the Canadians who were born here! Charity begins at home and once home is taken care of then and only then should our government give to others. Notley it's time you did your true job and start working for the people and not the corporations, we don't need anymore pipelines, etc! IMPEACHMENT sounds good right about NOW!!!!!
