INCREASE OUR AISH

I've been on AISH for about a year and every month is the same, paid at the end of the month, pay bills, have 100~200$ leftover for food. I run out of money by the second week of the next month. Most of the time I have to borrow money from my family, it's such a sad state. It feels like the government of Alberta just wants AISH recipients to go homeless or get so far into debt they have to declare bankruptcy. I literally can't have a social life, I can't afford anything so I'm stuck at home starving and alone.

I am my son's full time cargiver while being handicapped and on AISH and every month we are struggling and use the food bank and have no savings or a way to move if we needed to. AISH workers have denied a damage deposit, utility deposits, moving allowances and more while ignoring my calls as we almost became homeless. Handicapped people are being treated like 2nd class citizens while new comers who abuse the system are given food, shelter, furniture and much more in benefits than disabled citizens of Canada. For shame.

As a AISH person, the monthly $1,588 is WAY to low. We are equalified to the being homeless if missue one check. I'm tired of eating unnamed food; or even not even not even having enough $$ to buy food. ( I can only afford around $$ 60.00 a month ). No $$ for clothes; some medical supplies' medication's/ surgeries that are not covered

Yes I agree on the aish to go up , 1688 plus one toddler I got car insurance 311.74 plus gas plus rent 800 plus 65 phone bill food stuff for the baby clothing for him , he eats more then I do , barley left with much plus paying debt off as well from past , struggling mom and I know it would be great Benifits for everyone , notley can't get rid of this aish because some people are disabled and can't work they need some sort of income . And I think it's time for people to speak up ,

A decent increase would be fantastic but any increase would be helpful

It is sad due to rent here in Lethbridge is over a $1000 for a one bedroom and sometimes that doesnt include utilities. Plus your food, phone and daily expenses

We need more money to live, and the government is spending money where it does not need to be spent. Wake up.

I aggree it very hard as increases in rent and utilities are not enough and your stuck ven if your trying to find another place getting enough for dd and meet your current rental cost .u need to be able to be in postion to get good reference aslo thats not any unexpected issued life throws at u which every one gets .but on aish worse .we should not feel like we r being punshied for things we cant control ?! Stigmas still around too geting smid better but that too .my thought

we need to raise the minimum aish payment up in Oder to live in the world now A days expectual with rent going up I live in an oil field town it's very expense to live here can't find really any place that's under 1200 a month rent and that only leaves you with 400 left to live on for the rest of the month but that doesn't include power water and gas cost a month either
