There is a contradiction when on Aish and CPP at the same time. On Amish you can earn 800 a month IF your allowed to work. On cpp you are allowed to earn $4000 a year which is roughly 360 a month. U have to follow cpp rules or they deduct it dollar for dollar off your wish and you are actually punished for working because you end up taking home less than the allowed 1588 a month. That is 1 discrepancy the other is if your doctor won't let you work you can't earn and live below poverty when others on wish can earn...this is again punishment for being more disabled.

I agree with raising the income. No one can live off 1588 a month. I know people who're on Aish and struggle daily, and no they can't work, making extra on the side isn't an option!

I live on 1588.00 a month and hardly even get by. It does not last a month and I'm always feeling as tho I'm being choked. Never enough to eat nutriciously and sick of it. I would appreciate a raise so I can live. Without wondering where in
M going to get bus fair to use the food bank. Walk in my shoes at 1588.00 per month for a year and see how much further you get. Concerned Alberta!!!

It is very difficult for many people to find decent housing when rental property is increasing in price as well as other stuff like food, bills and clothing!

Increase would help majorly in this economy as it’s impossible to make ends meet

With continued increases of cost in the basic needs to survive now, there is no way a person can pay for basic necessities, never mind a place to live.

I am on Aish and am supporting myself, husband who is without work and my son who is also type 1 Diabetic. Its hard on me and an increase could allow us to get a 2 bedroom where then my son can have his own room (right now he's sleeping in the kitchen of our 1 bedroom) and help with extra expenses towards his diabetes needs.

I have 2 autistic sons on aish and I'm a mental health care aid they definitely need a raise. Groceries alone run for between 4 and 500 a month.

I think increasing the AISH income support is a great idea for those who can't work or have trouble working in specific places. I have a disability as well and with my disability , it's hard for me to find a job. I pay 500$ a month for a room to rent, then I spend almost 180-200$ for groceries and about another 200 for extra needs (tampons, makeup, clothing especially, hearing aid batteries, bus pass, monthly phone bills etc...)

My dad is on AISH and he can't afford anything by himself. This is ridiculous. He can not work at all and shouldn't have to struggle the way he does.

Please increase, and the workers should be more helpful with what other benefits are availbe like special diets, special transportation, etc if required. They're not saying anything to inform us what we can be eligible for and that's a disgrace!
