How can it not be increased? The cost of living goes up! The refugees get a lot more...are u kidding me??? What a disgrace! I'm now on AISH, unable to work, because of what my government job did to me!!!

Aish isn't enough to cover costs of rent, food, bills, monthly bus pass, some of us has electric and heat bills to pay monthly,

I'm an AISH receipent. I've been on AISH since 2010. I agree to all the statements about AISH. I believe we need an increase. $1,588.00 isn't enough for us it hasn't been for quite sometime. I personally don't like what we get. Now they need to increase our pay. I laugh at the refugees who come here and explain the money they get isn't enough.... OUR INCOME ISN'T ENOUGH. We need an increase I can't live off what I get which is the same amount. It really sucks.

The amount they give you for having a kid I can barely keep his close going and food and when everything is increasing and aish isn't u start losing and it never stops

No, Darlene. Every MLA should have to live on $1588 for the first year of their term...NO access to their personal accounts, no 1/3 tax free status, no free money going into their pension plans/RRSP's, etc. And the same prescription coverage WE get (like when they don't cover a Diabetes drug like Invokana, they don't get covered for drugs that AISH doesn't cover).

The amount the government is giving the citizens of Alberta is a joke. Its a slap in the face. They are punishing people because they cannot work. This is why they would rather give an immigrant family money because the government thinks they will be more productive citizens. This is the truth. We MUST stand up this. The amount that people on AISH get will never change unless this petition gets out on all social media...Facebook...Twitter...and the newspapers. 1000 people is a good start but everysingle person on AISH signed this petition you would have well over 25,000 signatures. There are 55,000 people on Alberta Works alone but you know what? Out of those 55,000 I bet half are immigrants. Just go any AISH or Alberta Works Office and you will see what I mean. Lets think about how we can get this petition out there so we can get more signatures!! Whatever you do, do not vote NDP next time or nothing will ever change!!

I would like to challenge Notley to live on AISH for 3 months I will do HER job for 3 months,I bet I could do a better job ruining Alberta than her. We will never get an increase in AISH unless we GET RID OF THE LIBERALS AND THEIR IDEALS OF A COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT. Just think about it for awhile and you will see that we are slowly being stripped of our traditions and rights and the immigrants are living way better than we are! There are 55,000 people in Alberta on Alberrta Works alone so there must be at least that on AISH ! we need everyone to know that this is unacceptable and sign this petition.
$1588.00 per month is pathetic and our government is buying votes as I write this everyday and they are coming by the plane loads! This petition needs more PR .

We desperately need an increase...I am left with nothing by the time I pay my monthly bills and am left with nothing for food.. the food bank I was attending said I have to reapply to get food..I am able if approved for the food bank to access it once a month. And only 6 times a year.. so in other words I am left without food..eating some soup. And crackers if lucky. This is totally ridiculous we the people on AISH HAVE TO LIVE THIS WAY.
I worked for over 45 years. And now I am basically poverty. This is so WRONG.

Those on AISH have so little money for food they must eat the cheapest food available which is packaged highly processed garbage food. This constantly causes poor health as they cannot afford fruit, vegetables, and meat. Whole foods are a luxury. Even eggs are a luxury. When all you can afford is KD, Sidekicks, generic hot dogs and pasta, it takes a toll. It will absolutely cost the system more in the long run as eating like this is basically poison. Please let all Albertans live in a decent way. Let them have a life.

It needs to go up every thing is high like rent food I don't understand why people who come into are towns and cities get new houses and cars and money when are own people are have a hard time living people didn't ask to be sick and have to live this way. Plus old age should go up to they also have a hard time some people.did work at one time maybe if food was not so much people would not be so sick. And if cures are given for people to get better instead of letting them die there are cures for things in the states why not in Canada so what if loss money don't people lives matter
