Yes i agree $1588 isnt even rent in most cases and if you receive CPP Disability they deduct it dollar for dollar and you get just over $600. I dont think they should be allowed to deduct another disability payment against another disability payment. Got approved back to July 2017 and they deducted my income support and CPP Disability (which i wasnt getting then) from what they would pay! I got retroactive pay from CPP but even they arent counting it towards 2017 they counting in for 2018 as thats when i got it on Jan 4/2018! I cant survive off that my husbands ill so he cant work so im doing it all phones, insurance, car payment, utilities, groceries its outright disgusting that this is what you get for being disabled unreal

$1,588.00 is not enough to live on. Because of this, I still have to live with my mom at 27. Something NEEDS to change.

A government is judged by the way it treats most vulnerable citizens! Grateful for what I receive, however more allowance is needed to offset inflation and cost of living!

Keeping up with the rising cost of living on $1,588/month is impossible.

The amount of AISH is poverty, it’s sad that I worked my entire life and pay into pension, made in one week, what I make a month on AISH and have to fight for AISH like it’s a luxury!! I had everything and end up with a non curable disease, and now have nothing, then made to feel like I’m trying to steal from the government. It’s wrong to treat Canadian born people like this and give more to foreign people that don’t even want to be Canadians.

I asked for a bit extra emergency cash because 9 and hour is below minimum wage but she just said no.

I am involved with 2 people who are on AISH. Neither of these men can make ends meet on the AISH program. The increasing costs of rent and basic utilities are resulting in greater use of the food banks and increased social isolation for both.

Living below poverty level will always be an on going struggle.

Recipient of AISH with a fragile bone disease (Osteopetrosis). Due to the minimum wage increase, an AISH increase is severely needed as well. My quality of life is decreasing.

I am not on Aish, but I will support this petition, it's not fair to these individuals who can't work due to the poor health, and really looking to need help. I am with you all!!
