I have friends who have struggled to find therapeutic support because of limited availability… one cocker spaniel had to wait over a month following spine surgery for any kind of therapy. I pitched in to help and I’m just loving and supportive pet sitter and friend. I worked around the clock just to help this dog move to poop and pee. We were finally able to find someone certified to help with the much need therapy after nearly two months. It’s been two years and the sweet pup still drags a back leg. I fully support this petition.

The fact that there is such a shortage of vets currently it seems asinine to not allowed qualified therapists to help pets in need. The hypocrisy is that at some places there is an unqualified tech doing the PT’ work without vet supervision and/or providing limited therapy due to lack of training. Limiting animal certified physical therapists who want to help only hurts the pets.

Animals deserve the care. Consumers deserve the access and choice. Veterinarians want to be allowed to refer their animal patients to qualified animal physical therapists so they can better collaborate. Physical therapists who have gone through the additional training specific to animals want to be able to practice under the indirect supervision of the veterinarian.

Do what is best for our pets - not what is best for Veterinany bank accounts!

As a PT in Florida, we have learned so much about human anatomy and physiology and many of those topics corelate with animal anatomy and physiology. With proper training, PTs should also have access to our canine community.

I have received physical therapy myself and no doctor was on site. The standard should be the same for animals. It takes weeks to get an appointment to see a vet and animals are needlessly suffering as it is.

My dog is alive and thriving because of the wonderful commitment of the vets at Beach Animal Rehabilitation Center. Their vast knowledge, love, care, support and commitment to helping animals is why I support this cause a need. My hope is that evey animal owner can have the same opportunity and benefits I've had for these rehabilitation services.

We need to increase access to qualified rehabilitation therapists! My dog was fortunate enough to have access to a wonderful qualified and highly experienced therapist and this was a game changer for her quality of life!

People should havea chose in where they want to receive their rehab services. If I am skilled to see an animal in a Vet's clinic... and I am a licensed animal PT I should be allowed to see patients in my own practice with appropriate communication with a referring Vet

Animal rehabilitation services were instrumental in the recovery of my female German Shepherd post ACL surgery!
