If a vet determines that physical therapy is the best option for care and they want to refer their animal patient to a qualified PT for that service, why not give the vet that choice? That would help to open up access to care AND allow the vet to make decisions for themselves.

Animals must be allowed the opportunity to fully recover from injury and illness so they may have the best quality of life, just as humans should.

Human physical therapists have gone through significantly more schooling regarding neuromuscular reeducation, muscle balance assessment and treatment, balance training, exercise modification, etc then the two-week course any veterinarian has been through.
Suggesting that they need to have oversight by someone vastly under qualified is insulting and not evidence-based.
Please allow dogs to continue to receive care in the way their guardians see fit, And allow practitioners to make use of their existing skill set.
This reeks of governmental oversight... Where are the people making the laws very clearly do not understand the intricacy of what they are legislating.

Legislation needs to support licenced musculoskeletal practitioners deliving best practice and using the high skill set within their scope of practice to improve animal welfare by ensuring access to excellent care.

Pet parents should have access to physical rehab for their dogs! I have witnessed myself with two dogs that it has made the difference between walking and not walking.

This is very important, our pups contribute to our quality of life and that’s what we should also provide for them

No vet should be in control of an Animal PT. They should be working with each other for better care for the animal patient. My Doctor does not control my PT. I choose my Doctor and my PT. I want the same for my animal/pet/fur baby. No vet should be controlling who I can and cannot see for my pet.
