Petition to the Education Secretary, to Reflect True English History by Including Black Tudors in the National Curriculum

I definitely support this petition to highlight and remember the positive contributions my ancestors have made to society, on their journey throughout history. It is so important for children to get a balanced view of history.

Hiding way too much of our history - whether shared or otherwise - Speak it how it is - whats wrong with that

This project has my support. Absolutely!

Stop the genocide of Black children. Enough is enough. Give them acknowledgement within their history. Then after their education, allow them to have a stake in society. Stop hiding their true worth & restricting their contributions. This generation won't allow you not to teach them, not give them smoky for Britain to lock them up in jail for 21st Century slavery. The society will burn down properly before that racist strategy takes place! It's time to respect all who live within the nation or continue to create enemies living in your own house Britain. The obvious choice is yours to make.

After all these years I surprised that it hasn't happened already!

I am 48yrs old when I was at school history was one of those subjects I dislike. I show no interest in it what so ever! If I had the opportunity to learn about what the black contributed to English history maybe I would of shown more interest in the subject. Kids of today deserve to know what there black ancestors did to make England a great country

Education should strive for the truth when teaching children, and the fact there were Africans in Tudor England leading normal lives should not be overlooked.

shame on anyone who suppress information, the national curriculum has to be corrected to include the Afrikan historical importance in the UK and Worldwide

It is essential that the current curiculum is reformed in order to enlighten students of the enormous contribution that Africans have made to the delevopment of this country.

After all these years and still no change. Now is the time for change.

History needs to be a true representation and not just select elements of it, that is an approach that distorts facts and knowledge

All knowledge of our history has not been told.

This knowledge should absolutely be included in the curriculum.

As stated in the petition details, it's important to dispel the myth that the African presence in England began with slavery.

Everyone should have equal representation of their culture.

This is an important element to include for students in our national curriculum for History, but particularly Year 6 and above into secondary level.
