Petition to the Education Secretary, to Reflect True English History by Including Black Tudors in the National Curriculum

It would be good for the national curriculum to reflect the multi cultural society that makes up Britain.

A definite must.

Every school should have one!

The inclusion of Black Tudors in our National Curriculum is of vital importance in improving the historical accuracy or our teaching in schools. Efforts to improve our teaching of history should not stop with Black Tudors. Our history teaching should include the evidence of African people living, thriving and contributing to life in pre-16th Century England and Europe. African people also exist and feature in numerous records, documents and works of art - including paintings, sculptures, myths and legends - originating in and/or relating to Britain (and the rest of Europe), from Roman times onwards.

I would of been so happy to have my children learn of our African contributions to this country, what a shame they are taught so much of other cultures and hardly anything of their own.

Yes, I agree that more of the African culture and history should be taught in our schools.

Please ensure that an inclusive National Curriculum is taught in all schools

A long time waiting for the curriculum to represent our African people's contributions to this country.

It's been a long time coming, and it's time for a change. Lets not hide the truth from the youths.

This is way overdue, it is about time for truth to be taught in our schools.

History should always represent truth. Truth should always be reflected in the education of a nation.

It is about time that the British education system recognised the contributions made by the African Tudors and make it a part of the national curriculum. We have waited long enough for the African contribution to British society to be recognised.

There should be Moore books like this in the school curriculum.

If all other races are free to learn and teach their history, why can't the Black British do so? Thd United Convention Stares that every child gas the right to freely learn about their culture!!

My history of my people has been side lined for far too long, we had a history, and we must be allowed to have it seen by all. We have been treated terribly. So let our history be told, AT Last.

It's an absolute shame that so much history (especially African) is omitted from the curriculum here in the U.K. How can students/ future citizens have any faith in such a society that continually apologises for slavery yet does nothing to rectify the damage done. We pay a lot of taxes here, spinning wheels of companies for decades, yet we receive nothing but disrespect, disregard and misrepresentation from our so-called government... How can we move forward positively without the truth?

Its best to reflect and embrace the true knowledge of history, rather than conceal it from the masses, because its everybodies history not just an elect few.

I have to endorse this initiative. However the state school curriculum in England has never fulfilled the needs cross-culturally of the diverse range of pupils that attend them.
