I would like to see more black history taught in schools and colleges across the board, so that young black men and women can be inspired, and we are no longer looked on as a race but a people.

I feel that black history should be taught at all levels and there is a connection between black people and nearly every situation in history there has ever been, which is why I wrote a science fiction novel about it.

More balanced, holistic and inclusive History curricula are needed in the UK in order to present a more accurate account of our history and to promote a sense of shared national heritage amongst all ethnicities.

If we are truly a nation that values and celebrates diversity then we should reflect that in our educational studies. This, I believe empower and enrich all to understand how we this Great Country was formed. Stop telling the single story!!

Its important to me and its very important to our childrens childrens its not looking good all i can see is nothing but pure mist and dark clouds i cant see the sun we need to pray to the heavenly one and is angelic hosts our ancesters, unite and honor them.

How on earth, in the modern world, can we still carry on teaching black children that their history starts with slavery!!???! African people have contributed so much to history, influenced western thought and culture and yet, we choose to ignore this fact, I think that is obscene.

This is truly needed! My daughter was sent out of class this week as she was angry about having to write about slavery yet again! She refused to do the work. I don't normally encourage this behaviour but in this instance I agree with her all the way!!

This is long over-due. Why should we as Africans have to JUSTIFY our children learning about their history is schools !!

Britain has always hidden the true history of this country and in particular the important role that Afrikan/Black people have had in the building of this country including is socio/political/cultural and economic development. This concealment by the British establishment into this vast contribution leads others to erroneously believe that one, Afrikan/Black people have no history worth mentioning and two that Afrikan/Black people have played no role whatsoever in the formation of the UK. This ground breaking book by Onyeka smashes this assertion. Black/Afrikan history needs to be on the national cirricula to inform every ethnic group including White British that one Britain has never been an ethnically homogenous one and two of the vast contributions to this coiuntry's development by Afrikan/black people and this goes as far back as the Roman period where Afrikans ruled this country. A prime example of this is the Afrikan/Roman emperor Septimus Sevrimus who was born in present day Libya and ruled this country between 193 AD and 211 AD and is buried at the York Minster. He is the one who fortified Hadrian's Wall to keep the Scots out of England!!! This is why everyone especially Afrikan/Black people and their children need to know this great history!!
