Against exclusion of Combined Events from the UK Athletics Championships

Reinstate the multi events

All events should be treated EQUALLY

The treatment of our multi eventers is a disgrace. We have so much history Daley denise kelly dean Jessica and kat. We have to develop the events and allow for ranking points.

This is so wrong. As a former National Champ and someone who spent many years coaching Combined Events athletes and worked with other coaches in the UK for many years to fight to keep competitions and development opportunities going for CE athletes I’m deeply saddened by this. A massive step in the wrong direction for our highly successful event group

This needs to be sorted they need equity with their fellow athletes

The UK Championships should recognise the brilliance of our top athletes, and as the multi-events have historically produced many outstanding UK Cahmpions, it is not on for the events to be excluded. People will come to see stars like KJT and the aspiring youngsters compete in a proper Championship setting.

I fully support the aims of this petition.

How bizarre. What are they thinking ?

An absolute travesty if this is allowed to happen. Multi event competitions are the gateway to athletics to so many young people who have not yet chosen their path.

Please reinstate.

Combined events should remain a pilar of athletics without doubt.

Come on UKA do all you can to include combined events in the UK Champs. Treat all events equally.

I whole heartedly agree with this petition. The heptathlon in particular has provided GB&NI with a consistent stream of medals over the last few decades at various, Olympics, world's, euros, commonwealth, indoor and out, its probably been the most consistent event for us over the last 20 years or so.

The removal of multi events and the watering down of field events in general is an absolute disgrace.

Many of the world’s very best, most celebrated and most successful athletes, began as multi event athletes, competing in the national championships. The most notable home-grown I can think of was Sally Gunnell. Don’t do this to our sport. Please think again!
