When you deny any person you are missing out on such potential for all to see.

When I was a student at North, I volunteered with the special ed class and fell in love with all the students. They deserve a spot in the musical as they are a very important part of the school community. Cmon, North!

I hope to see some change, I’m very disappointed in the way the theater department has addressed disabilities and inclusion.

Differently ambled students should have the same opportunities as their able bodied classmates.

Music is therapy. Involving these students in an activity like this could immensely help them with coping with anxiety and allow them to work in an environment with other people. If they are physically and mentally able to participate and their parents and/or doctors allow it, I believe that it should be allowed.

It’s about making everyone feel welcome and doing everything possible to help students enjoy their high school years!

Absolutely sickening. All students no matter what disabilities should be able to do what they love NO MATTER WHAT. In this day and age, I am appalled that people are excluded from activities just because of minor disabilities. Whoever put this into affect should be ashamed of themselves.

As the sister of someone who loves singing and dancing and also has a disability, I’m disappointed in North High School and am very glad I won’t be going there to see this type of exclusion happen.

As the parent of a 16 year old daughter who has Down syndrome, I find it an absolute disgrace that Williamsville has still not created a school environment that is inclusive of all students. To suggest that students with special needs should be relegated to stage crew is absolutely absurd. They should be encouraged to pursue their interests & passions just like the rest of their peers, whether that interest is on stage or behind the scenes! It truly saddens me that as we approach the start of 2020, we are still fighting for students to be included in all aspects of their school life.

A persons disability shouldn’t define them. Theater is supposed to be a place where everyone is accepted and included.
