Dark side is great but the flat ground spot needs a repave. Bring a skate park to killington would drum up business not just for Darkside skate park but all restaurants on the access road. I drive to Burlington to skate there and always do lunch and grab a beer. This is a must for killington.

The value of a quality skate park in any town cannot be understated. The important thing is, involve multiple quality skate park builders bids and designs. Involve the community so they get a skate park that the people have a connection too. Do not use a generic plan and short change the quality and/or number and diversity of the features in the park. If you’re gonna do it, do it right! If you do, people will drive from all over to use it just like they do the mountain, everyone will benefit. Good luck!

The Killington community and the whole Rutland area have been without a skatepark since the Rutland Recreation department closed Flip Side in 2019, leaving a thriving community of skaters without a safe place to skate. Many skaters who called Flip Side their home park also frequent Darkside Snowboards in Killington for their winter riding needs, as well as the small skate ramp in back of the shop for lack of anything else in the area. This community of skaters/snowboarders would make great use of a skatepark during the warmer months, and it would help foster the next generation of skaters and riders

Yall spend thousands every year maintaining the bike park. Ya don’t gotta maintain a concrete skatepark much if at all!

Skateparks are great places for people to learn the lessons of success and failure and how to overcome. Please include a skatepark in master plan.

Skateboarding is a great activity for people to partake in when they don’t have the means to buy an expensive mountain bike but want to be involved in action sports in spring/summer/fall. Please add this to the rec center plans.

Given that we have a ski resort and bike park, we need a skate park! It fits right into our adventure lifestyle

Board sports provide people with an ability to express themself and discover themself while being outside in nature. We need more skateparks around Vermont and snowboard culture around killington attracts skaters. They are really friendly people overall especially when their area and art is respected.
