Great nurse!

Whether we agree with what is said or not, we enjoy free speech in this country. Let us stand up for that.

Jon has been a treasure for students at the Winthrop School. I worker briefly at the school, in the cafeteria. Young people need all the support, which they deserve. Jon was appreciated by all who came in contact with him….. students and staff. What a loss to all at Winthrop if he no longer get worked there. Pitiful if he were suspended!

Blake’s action is clearly unconstitutional and it is embarrassing that an as educator he cannot see the historic context nor his being on the wrong side of this lesson in civics.

1st Amendment rights are not optional

We are moving in the direction of a witch hunt against anyone who differs. It’s a sad direction for our country to take.

I am opposed to the firing of Jon Stafford. His comments were neither threat or a crime. He is a valuable asset to the school and students.

"Big Brother" is not a good look for Ipswich Schools. Do better ...

What do you teach about free speech? I suspect you may be a Kirk supporter which is frightening that you are in charge of children. You need to be replaced.

He is allowed to express a difference of opinion.

Mr. Stafford is a wonderful nurse and was very kind when I attended Winthrop many years ago. His firing would be a tragic loss to the children, the school and the Ipswich community.

My children attended the Winthrop School, and I cannot speak highly enough about Mr. Stafford. He has always been a compassionate and kind man. Like everyone else, he has the right to free speech unless otherwise limited by his contract. As having been a parent of young children, I can confidently say that kids of this age are not on Facebook—they’re far more likely to use TikTok. It is my hope that the current tensions ease and that the Superintendent of Schools allows Mr. Stafford to continue serving as Winthrop’s school nurse. Over the years, he has shown remarkable sensitivity and concern for our children, and the community has greatly benefited from his dedication. He is entitled to his opinion, whether others agree with it or not—just as each of us is entitled to our own.

Our First Amendment rights must be protected.

Please reinstate Jon. I believe we still have a First Amendment that governs our rights under the Constitution.
