I am currently an Assistant Regional Counsel under Gene Zenobi and cannot say enough good things about him. He has been the most supportive boss I have ever had. He is free with his time late at night and on weekends to help his attorneys prepare a case. He is willing to go to trial with us (something judge's appreciate). Gene's reputation is a great asset to us. Prosecutors respect him and his name lends the entire office a tremendous amount of credibility. When I was a prosecutor, Gene was the defense attorney we all admired and trusted. Now as a defense attorney working for him, my admiration has only grown. I stand with the prosecutors, defense attorneys, and judges in Miami who can think of no better person to be Regional Counsel and encourage you to re-appoint the finest attorney in Miami to continue in his post as Regional Counsel.

If it is true that how a society treats its outcasts, the least among it, says perhaps the most about the type of society it is and yearns to become, then there is little as noble in our profession as coming to the defense of the defenseless, the poor, of ensuring their access to courts, and justice, and, no one more noble to steer that ship than Gene. He is the right man in the right job at the crucial time. And I trust in him, as deeply as I am able, in court and out, to be the beacon this post demands and to fend for the least, the last, the lost, the left out, and the looked over.

The people of Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties have been well served by his leadership of RC3 for the past four years and Governor Scott would be doing a great service to the citizens of our State by re-appoint him to Regional Counsel for a second term.

Gene Zenobi is the driving force behind an amazing group of lawyers and staff who make up RC3. He has hired a dedicated and diverse group of professionals who fight hard for the indigent and underrepresented people in criminal and dependency court. It is often a thankless job and this petition gives an opportunity to express gratitude to the quiet man who has dedicated himself to his calling. I strongly support his bid for re-appointment.

Without a doubt Gene Zenobi is head and shoulders more qualified then anyone one else in the legal defense community of Miami-Dade County or elsewhere to lead RC3.
The body of work he has produced during his first term speaks for itself, but can best be described as brilliant.
