an embarassing display that the Academy is first and foremost serving corporate gain rather than cultural quality. The Academy's excuse is bogus and we see them for what they are. And please remember: Alone yet not alone is still a great song!

i've loved bruce's work for years since 1985 with young sherlock holmes...... i was so excited to see him and dennis receive a nomination. to see that taken away is such a cruel fashion is something which needs to be overturned. bruce did nothing wrong sending out a few e-mails to try to alert people to a song he feared might get lost in amongst the other contenders. he did not strong arm/ bribe anyone into voting for him, he just asked nicely for the song to be looked at and then let the voters make up their mind. everyone else is running aggresive campaigns to get noticed , using dirty tricks to get nominated, and in this case , dirtier tricks to stamp on the clear favourite to win, ( based on the poll in the hollywood reporter ) ..... bruce is, from the very little i know of him, one of the most kind, caring, polite, respected people in hollywood, ( something that can't be said of certain others , who i'm sure we all know of from stories, no smoke without fire!!!.) so to see him treated in this fashion is very hard to have to sit back and not chime in with my two cents. i'm still looking in to what else i can do , even if as just a film fan, i hold no weight and am just a countless voice screaming to be heard on this travesty. ......whoever does hold weight in the academy, get your act together, don't be a sheep , stand up , be counted, and do what YOU can to overturn this or at the very least , make sure this never happens again to one of your most respected artists...... jeez, i thought the idea of the oscars was to reward excellence , not take a s**t on it, because other noses were put out of joint by a song that celebrates the very values that obviously don't exist in a lot of hollywood players. ..................alone, yet not alone..... was any song title more apt? .... bruce, you may feel like you're alone in how you've been treated, well... you've got an army of supporters here behind you. ..... alone , but not alone!!!!

Outrageous! Bruce has dedicated his life to furthering the art of music composition and now he has arbitrarily been singled out? Might as well ban all pre Oscar "For your consideration" ads - Appalling!
