If they were initially worthy of the nomination, they should have the nomination. This is at best a technicality that would certainly be overlooked if Mr. Broughton were a star songwriter. Let them have their nomination.

Bruce Brougton has proven himself to be a man of great ethics and has generously given back to his community. He did no more to ask "for consideration" than any of the other nominees. The Academy is only looking at the potential political fallout and are willing to publicly humiliate one of the most influential and generous composers in Hollywood. It will hurt them more their way.

I am a member of the music branch. I have received several invitations to elaborate lunches and screenings promoting songs for the voting this year. Bruce has done nothing wrong.

Please reinstate the Best Original Song nomination for Alone Yet Not Alone. Recending the nomination is a poor and embarrassing course of action that makes clear the political and petty nature of a once celebrated institution and industry.

Bruce Broughton did nothing inappropriate in my opinion. I am a member of the Music Branch, I received Bruce's email informing me that he had written a song that was eligible for consideration. That was all. When I consider the blandishments proffered by the major studios to "consider" their submissions, I feel that the Board of Governors is over reacting and committing a grave injustice.

Betty and I Robert Johnson both agree that the academies removal of the song alone yet not alone was totally unfair and inappropriate and wish that the song be reinstated as the nominee and that Mr. Brown and Mr. Seigels be allowed to be considered for nomination as well

As an Academy member, I'm appalled by this rash action taken by the board of governors.
