Please reinstate Bruce Broughton's Oscar nomination or risk further devaluing the cultural currency of the award. He did nothing which higher profile, better funded Oscar campaigns have not successfully done and his prior positions should have no bearing on his eligibility. This is a deeply unfair position for the Academy to take.

Broughton is a caviar-music maker. He does not deserve such mistreatment. Film music is in debt with him. The Academy too
