This is undeserved since the composer's talents deserve recognition. It is unfair because other nominees are promoted far more than this. It is suspiciously political since it seems driven by opponents of the song itself. How else could you suspect a man of such high integrity and honesty? He has served the Music and Arts community in so many selfless ways both as an educator and leader - in addition to his being so highly respected as a composer and orchestrator - that to accuse him of breaking Academy rules for his own benefit is insulting and unwarranted.

This seems patently unfair and politically charged. Let us celebrate the artistry of these creators and performers. I urge the Academy to reverse their decision and reinstate "Alone Yet Not Alone" as a nominated song.

All he did was play the game as the Academy set it up. You can't penalize one person unless you are willing to go after all of them.

Bruce Broughton is one of the most finest and talented writers in the industry today. His music continues to be used in countless productions. He deserves the right as does anyone to have a piece he did nominated. GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!!! place the song BACK in the running. I LOVE Broughtons music it has gotten me through some hard times. I will always continue to support him and his music and enjoy it countless tiems and for many many many years to come. :)

It's afinely crafted song, worthy of its nomination. A few e-mails, commpared to the FYC discs that land on Academy member doormats? Please!

Mr. Broughton broke no Academy rules in acting as he did, and a private investigation on behalf of an anonymous party proved this. As such, the Academy's Board of Governors should not be penalizing him at all!!

This decision is absurd and is a disgrace. Bruce Broughton should have had many Oscars, and this specific one would have been the least that the Academy could do for such a talented composer. I am devastated.
