Bruce and Dennis should be celebrated for this wonderful song, not punished for believing in their work. This song has been promoted the least yet is the one being removed from the nomination list. This is not how we should be treating music in 2014!

My greatest fear is the board will realise it has made a mistake but would lose face if it failed to reverse this decision. Here is an opportunity for the board and the academy to gain humble respect for acknowledging the feelings of its members.

I stand with Bruce. There is not a malicious bone in his body and I won't believe he had any intention of currying favor with anyone in the academy thru his actions.

Bruce has been a supporter of film composers for more than two decades. His wisdom and willingness to help others it what makes him a mentor by example to all of us in the film music community. I'm hoping folks will see through the controversies, and more awareness will be given to the message of this beautiful song: that when you feel alone, you are not alone, and you can always hold your head up, remembering that God has promised never to leave or stop loving you

Bruce Broughton is a man of integrity, loyalty, and, above all, an extremely talented composer. Sure hope AMPAS understands the magnitude of support we are prepared to give Bruce.

The decision to rescind the nomination is a travesty, and you are publicly humiliating a very good man, and an honorable man. You actions are disgusting, and will cause "the rest of us" to stop watching your awards show, and attending your movies.

If a few emails is "undue influence," then perhaps the Academy should consider banning multi-page campaign ads in Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, and let each entry stand on its own merits.

This was an egregious error in judgment and bowing to political pressure by the Academy. It needs to be revisited.

Are you kidding us? All the campaigning and freebies that all the studios send out and a simple e-mail alerting Academy members to the song's existence has been such a reason for silly hoo-haw? I know there's political politesse at play here, but sometimes the Academy needs to tell someone to shut up and sit down...that his complaints are unfounded. If the music branch saw fit to nominate the song, then the nomination SHOULD STAND!
