I hope Mr. Broughton sues for reverse discrimination. The Acedemy has disgraced themselves to target Mr. Broughton because of his title when there are huge corporations who shamelessly promote their songs. Like Mr. Broughton said in an interview, if he used his title as governer etc to 'game the system', don't you think he would have done it at least once in the past 30 years? All any jury has to do is look at his record of how he 'games the system' with his titles and they will do the right thing. I hope to be on the jury making that decision. The Academy has disgraced themselves with pettiness, and I hope this brings Mr. Broughton so much fame and support for his song it makes the Academy look more stupid than they have already made themselves appear. The Academy should treat no one in this manner. Don't make your black eye worse than it already is. There is time to change this whole situation. Going legal, should he chose to do that, is excellent publicity for him and really really bad publicity for you. Do the right thing, or you might find me as a juror. A risk you don't want.

Please rethink your decision. An apology and quick reversal could prevent a very long-lasting black eye to your organization.

Please reinstall the 2014 Original song nomination for "Alone Yet Not Alone" by Bruce Broughton and Dennis Spiegel!

Bruce Broughton and Dennis Spiegel earned the nomination for Best Original Song on the merits of their composition. It is a travesty and an abomination to to exclude "Alone Yet Not Alone" from the awards competition because Mr. Broughton sent a few emails. Please consider the spirit of these emails. These gentlemen wanted to make the members aware of their work. It is not as though they orchestrated some massive email campaign to gain an unfair advantage against the competition. For heaven's sake, listen to the song; it is good; it is wonderful. I am a member of the public; I am not a composer. It sickens me to see a gentleman like Mr. Broughton treated in this manner.

AMPAS, please stop calling the kettle black. Mr. Broughton and Mr. Spiegel did nothing wrong except have the gall to not let their chances be railroaded by better-funded competition.

It wasn't so long ago the Academy was complaining about studios printing misleading ads. None of them were removed from contention. This is a completely nonsensical overreaction, and reflects very poorly on the Academy's judgment. Reinstate nomination, please.

The fact that 70 emails are considered an "unfair advantage" in the face of competition by the likes of Pharrell, Disney and Karen O is a joke. Same day Bruce was booted, Pharrell's corporate machine started the 24hour video promotion. Gimme a break.

Beautiful song sung by an inspiring vocalist

Given how the studios campaign, and their far more prevalent ties within the Academy, the decision to withdraw the nomination suggests greater impropriety than the alleged infraction.

Please reconsider and re-instate "Alone Yet Not Alone" to its place with the other nominees.

This decision is unprecedented and unwarranted. Please reconsider and re-instate this song to it's rightfully earned place among the other 4 nominees. Thank you.

I understand that you have to jump through hoops to be a contender, but his fault seems to be in not throwing bags of cash through the hoop ahead of him.
