In support of Bruce Broughton and Dennis Spiegel

Unless you're prepared to rescind the nominations of any and all nominees who were promoted in some form or fashion, it is not fair to single out Bruce Broughton and Dennis Spiegel. I believe you should reverse your decision and reinstate their song Alone, Yet Not Alone in the Original Song category.

If this is the ONLY song where ANY promotion was made, then, OK disqualify it. BUT, if any other song that was or was chosen had ANY promotion done, then THIS song should be allowed.

The academy must bear scrutiny to show what else goes on behind the scenes with other nominations. Bruce and Dennis don't deserve this unfair treatment.

I strongly urge the Academy to reconsider their actions and restore the value and authenticity of their awards.

Bruce's integrity is above reproach, the advertising system of the Academy is to blame.

I am shocked and saddened by this turn of events. I've known (and worked with) Bruce Broughton for over 30 years - besides his enormous talent, he is one of the most honorable people I've ever met in this town.

I sign this in support of Bruce & Dennis. This decision by the Academy is a very sad day in Hollywood history.

Very few if any personify the definition of honor, excellence and integrity as does Bruce Broughton. The thought that he would have come anywhere close to crossing "the line" of proper procedure is absurd and ridiculous. It seems obvious that there is a an ulterior motive from someone or group within the academy.

This is pathetic coming from an artistic organization.

Bruce Broughton' track record of service to the movie industry should speak for itself. So what if he lobbied for his song.

This is outrageous and a very poor excuse from the Academy. Reinstate Bruce Broughton and Dennis Spiegel's Academy nomination.
