Appalled that the sex-based provisions of the Equality Act 2010 are being set aside despite the government's decision to uphold them. Women are humans - female humans with specific needs and rights in society based on their biology.

Remember the Emperor's new clothes fable? JK is that little boy who pointed out the obvious. One should not be hounded for stating the truth.

Fully support proper support for Trans and also any MH issues that are being ignored, also believe that this discussion regarding sex based rights and self ID needs further discussion and that the online abuse Ms Rowling received is proof that the social media needs regulating.

I have always supported my trans friends, and been a proponent of trans rights since the early 80s, long before it was cool or fashionable, but now we've gotten into thought police territory, and there's no version of that I will ever get behind. I stand with JK Rowling.

We are a group of writers, actors, directors, musicians, producers, comedians and artists who wish to speak in support of JK Rowling. She has been subjected to an onslaught of abuse that highlights an insidious authoritarian and misogynistic trend in social media. Rowling has consistently shown herself to be an honourable and compassionate person and the appalling hashtag #RIPJKRowling is just the latest example of hate speech directed against her and other women that Twitter and other platforms enable and implicitly endorse.
We are signing this letter in the hope that if more people stand up against the targeting of women online, we might at least make it less acceptable to engage in it or profit from it.
We wish JK Rowling well and stand in solidarity with her. #LetWomenSpeak

Adult Human Female. I cannot use my name publicly but I am grateful and support all those who can and do stand in solidarity with JK Rowling. The attacks on her and the violent misogyny is never acceptable and shame on those who remain silent. I stand in defense of women's and girl's hard fought for and won sex based rights, the right to same sex attraction, the safeguarding gender non-conforming children. Biology is not bigotry.

Bullies back down when confronted, usually protesting that they are the true victims; here's to women with the courage of their convictions like JK Rowling.
