When good people sit by and let bad things happen the slippery slope rapidly turns into a cliff. We need the JK Rowlings of this world to make us stop and think.

When JKR wrote this is not a drill. I thought it was. She was right, it was not. Sorry for being half assed about recognising the importance of this debate. I'm in.

Even when Harry Potter's reputation was destroyed by the Daily Prophet, he never stopped trying to tell the truth about Voldemort's return. Now with life imitating art, it's clear that JK Rowling embodies the same brave and individualistic qualities that Harry does. I admire her even more for that. I admire that she hasn't backed down even when many are threatening to review-bomb and cancel everything she tries to create from now on. JKR gives me the strength to keep seeing reality and to not cave to the tribe's insistence that 2+2 = 5 because if you say 4 then it makes them feel distressed. In the past, I gave them that courtesy, but now it's clear that this is more about certain groups wanting control over reality so that they can replace it with a version of their own.
