This does not belong in a national park. The area should be protected from development, particuarly of a private / military nature..

The Victorian gargantuan monstrosity is completely contrary to everything we hope for in our natioanl parks. And, it's a slap in the face to veterans, who deserve so much more than tawdry conmercialism.

If you really have to have a memorable, why not build something to work with the landscape rather than decimate it? Better yet, give the funds you're planning on using to build this monstrosity to veterans who aren't being taken care of by this government.

a national park is not the place for a privately funded monstrosity such as this - additionally, the geology of the area should be protected.

Not in a National Park which people visit to enjoy wilderness, not huge monstrosities!

This statue would be a clear violation of the Parks Canada mandate, and sets worrying precedent for our protected lands. Factor in the geologic, and ecological impacts, both land and sea, during construction, and the potential increase of human traffic may cause to the area and this project makes less and less sense. If it must be constructed, it must be on private land (for which there are many reasonable prospects in the region). A construct of this scale would be visible for many kilometers, and is out of context for the region/Park. Public funds have already been squandered on this project which was to be fully privately funded, I see no reason to expect that that would change when the statue moves in to maintenance rather than development phases.

Put it somewhere else.

Let it be funded without taxpayers' dollars, and located on private land.

A Trojan horse of commercial exploitation in national parklands

This travesty is not a memorial: it is a money-making venture that is appropriating and abusing the sacrifices our veterans made.

No more monstrosities allowed! The most important mother, Mother Nature, doesn't need any idols built to detract from her.

The motivaton for this "memorial" is misguided. The $25M would be better used to benefit veterans still living and struggling!
