everyone who signs this will be told that they are against veterans. That is simply not true. The Park is supposed to protect the natural beauty of Cape Breton. with this project natural beauty will be destroyed, for parking lots, bathrooms, etc. How can the Park allow this to happen? Why wouldn't this monument be built in the Halifax area, where the men and women sailed from, and came home?

This is not right, they can build it somewhere else

I have already signed the 'no' petition--and although I'd love to live in Judique, my home town is Glace Bay. Good luck with tallying this opposition. It's ironic that we can wake up in the a.m. & see what our government has decided for us.

I oppose this. I am sure the fallen soldiers would have wanted to preserve the beauty of this place.

Cape Breton Highlands National Park should be maintained in as natural a state as possible. And a memorial like this should be placed in a built up area where it gets its best exposure.

This is a beautiful monument, but national parks are meant to remain in their natural state. Surely, a more suitable location can be found.

The Park must remain a natural environment - unpolluted by man made objects!

No, NO, NO. This is offensive, irrational, and an irresponsible expenditure in the face of so many other needs right in the same communities.

There is no shortage of war memorials in Canada. Green Cove is a pretty spot, leave it as it is. Besides that, the memorial statue as pictured is an eyesore.

First Mr. Harper, show our war veterans how much you respect them by closing their accesible offices, then give the go-ahead to build a private monument on ecologically sensitive ground in a federal park park. Good work PM. Keep it up, eh?

No memorial can or should compete with the beauty of this rocky shore.

Mr. Harper: First you close all the accesible veteran's offices, then you give permission to erect a private monument on an environmentally sensitive piece of Federal Park. Good work, PM. Keep it up, eh?

Oh Mr. Harper: first you close all the accesible veteran's offices, then you allow a private monument to be built on environmentally-sensitive Federal Park land. Good work Mr. PM, eh?

I am totally against upsetting the pristine nature of the Cabot Trail. It is not going to bring extra tourists into the area. I think the idea should have to go to a vote of the people from Cape Breton Island
