Concerns about the current treatment of Canada's veterans is high and rightly so. Objection to this project must not be misconstrued as objection to a memorial in principle. However, locating this memorial, on a site that will destroy one of this park's most beautiful natural locations is very likely to generate deep resentment in the people who pass it every day. Please find a more appriopriate location for this memorial.

Green cove is beautiful, please don't bury it with this monstrous statue. Put the memorial somewhere else, or better yet, scale the memorial build back a bit and invest that money in programs for veterans.

I do not believe that this is the right place for a monument of this size.

We've had no official input into the selling off of this piece of public parkland to private interests. Not ready to let this happen.

National Parks are for nature and habitat preservation, not monuments that intend to serve as tourist attractions.

A memorial is all well and good, but this will destroy a beautiful part of our island.

I remain pretty neutral on the opinion. I sign it because as always, it is not environmentally concious or respectful, and if a memorial was needed make it small and simple and then funnel the money into better uses. For example the living veterans or an environmental cause.

put it on the site of the closed Veterans Affairs Office. You know, those that the government forgets

I think that the money being donated for this project should be put to better use. This is just a ploy to make the park some money. The people that live their need to pay to be in the park already, and it shouldn't be like that. Use this money to keep veteran affairs open, give them better pensions or even just build a smaller statue. I think that this idea is ludicrous, selfish and not at positive way to honor our veterans.

Build the Memorial, but not inside of the Park boundary.
