I agree that putting this monument at Green Cove, or at any other place within a National Park totally ignores the purpose for which the parks were established. I cannot understand how permission was granted for this without there being any time for public input. Where's the democratic process for which so many gave their lives?

Preposterous! The proposed monument is completely contrary to the spirit of Canada's National Parks! Green Cove is one of the most beautiful and accessible natural wild places along the atlantic coast, and it should remain that way. The artist's concept makes me physically ill. Please please ... find another place NOT in the National Park.

How is that Parks Canada, who should be serving the people of Canada, is breaking its own Act in order to serve the interests of one man? This is absurd. The park belongs to the people of Canada, not to Mr. Trigiani. Green Cove IS a monument - to nature.

Besides the arguments pro and con for such a monument,

I too would like to know where the money is coming from especially since there is now a rumor that it could go up to $60 million. I'm sure that all that money could be better used.

I wouldn't want an anti-war memorial in the Park either Camille. Sorry but Green Cove should be left intouched.

All Canadians should have a say really. I would be just as much in opposition to it if it were in Jasper or Gros Mourne . This atrocity doesn't belong into a Park period.

Speechless...really. Surely this is exactly why there IS a Canada National Parks Act?! To protect nature from predators with deep pockets and outsized egos...

Veterans could use $25M a LOT more than they could use a gigantic environmental offence that will in no way help them pay them bills or deal with PTSD.

Misspent money. The surviving veterans need help. Green Cove is an amazing natural lookoff you can cover anywhere with cement so why destroy the good natural spot?

Misguided .. must have been under the influence of our beloved leaders .. $25M would go along way in PTSD assistance.

I don't disagree with a monument or with the location. I don't agree with the proposed monument and its lack of common sense. It doesn't have to be this huge or expensive.

If it were an anti-war memorial I might be persuaded.

I think this is an inappropriate location for such a memorial and the scale of the proposed monument is vulgar. Something more like the Swiss Air memorial in Peggy's Cove would be more suitable.

Not appropriate to the site. Green Cove is one of the most beautiful spots on the Cabot Trail, and I hope it might remain as it is. I think we can find a better way to honour those who died in wars.

There are many places along the East facing shores of this island that could make a great location for this monument. Placing it or any large statue in a park known for its natural wild beauty makes about as much sense as repopulating Wentworth Park in Sydney.with bears, lynx and moose.

Not appropriate to the park, not appropriate to spend the money on monument when there are veterans in need.
