I am opposed to building this monument for a number of reasons including: 1) The proposed monument will destroy one of the most beautiful lookoffs in the National Park. 2) This large amount of money could be much better spent to support veterans. 3) The idea that it will draw more tourists is naive! People come to see the natural beauty of the Park not to stare at a 10-storey overstated monument.

project will detract from the Cape Breton's primary draw for tourists: local culture and landscape; project contrary to the purpose of Cape Breton Highlands National Park; poorly designed sculpture; massive and insensitive intrusion on the landscape insensitive to the site and the park; & failure to consult with the community in advance of the decision to permit project in park.

The national Parks Act lays out the responsibility of any Government in power to protect our parks not to give land away to private interest without even consulting citizens.

I am appalled that this is being considered, not to mentioned in a national park. This monument in clear violation of the national parks act.

Lest we forget out living veterans who have limited access to care and support whether that be treatment of PTSD or a basic room on in a seniors care facility. I think the money this private company is touting could be better used to 'never forget' and honour our soldiers. If parks canada also just needs the money (infrastructure is costly) there are other sites than green cove. Why not a smaller monument with a care facility and treatment centre for veterans. So that they know they have not been forgotten.

An unnecessary cost; putting money towards a gaudy monument rather than supporting veterans in a direct way financially; and ruining a piece of human on earth with a terrible eyesore.
