I live in Nova Scotia. I think it is wrong been put in a National Park. And on a personal note it is ugly. And I am sure that any of my relatives who died in the second world war would appreciate it being a lot smaller, put somewhere else....and the saved funds put towards those vets that need help

Spend the money on our Vets. We have a monument to our fallen in France.

A National Park is not the place for a momument. It would spoil the natural beauty of the park.

so tacky and uncanadian. my great-uncle didn't survive Beaumont-Hamil so someone of Harper's ilk could insult his memory with this thing.

This monstrosity supposedly honouring Canada's war dead doesn't belong in a national park. Leave our park environments pristine & honour our veterans by supporting them & their families.

Preserve the park. Preserve this great, wild strip of coastline, so that those who come after me can see what Cape Breton really is. I will be heartbroken if this moves forward.

Everything about this monstrosity is a travesty. It violates the Parks Canada mandate; there has been no public consultation; it minimizes the significance of Vimy; it mistakenly glorifies the wealth and power of the private individual and his misplaced ego; it is a poor use of resources, and it is downright ugly. Keep this colossal blight out of Cape Breton!

Just not the right thing and definitely not the right place. Support the local memorials and legions and the vets themselves instead of ruining a beautiful part of our shore.

If we are building monuments, maybe we should build one to commemorate and mourn the loss of aboriginal women. This Mother of Canada idea is just another way of glorifying the idea of war, one in which the contribution of Canadians has been appropriately commemorated in Vimy, where the contribution was made.

The act of putting this statue in remembrance is a wonderful idea. The location could not be worse. This proposed statue would interrupt the beautiful landscape and natural area, if this statue is built I will make a point of NOT going to green cove. This statue will scar the landscape of this stunningly beautiful granite outcrop.

Never build the Never Forgotten Nat. Mem. in a National Park.

Enough fetishizing war and the dead. Canada has hundreds of memorial and cenotaphs already. Spend the money on the living, amd make the world a better place. If it's memory you want to cultivate, fund libraries!
