Put it on McNabs island in Halifax harbour where it will be seen by people and service men/women

one would like to think that the proposal to build such a statute was an April Fools joke - incredibly ugly - overtly sanctimonious - horrific waste of money & resources,

What a ridiculous statue for our wonderful multicultural nation. And a defilement of the natural beauty of the location

This monument will be a blight on the pristine beauty of Cape Breton.

This does not belong in a national park. Our parks should not be for sale.

Three sets soldiers: their significance, WWI, WWII, Peacekeeper: holding the globe. This is more sensible.

Why is it Mother Canada? We support our veterans but I don't see the connection of a giant Jesus or Mary like statue. How does that contribute to remembering about peace or battles we won?

I am appalled that this is being proposed for a place that should be held sacred because of its natural beauty! The "monument" is hideous, has religious connotations, and is not appropriate in this area of Canada.

I have been a tour director since 1969 touring Nova Scotia and do not want this monument bastardizing our beautiful Cabot Trail.

I cannot believe you want to build this monstrosity. As a vet and a Cape Bretoner I think it will be a laughing stock. This kind of low brow patriotism is a harperism just not Canadian. This is not for the troops it is for someones ego. Putting this money in the Gabarus Road would improve tourism which would help all Cape Breton. it is my belief that Louisbourg is the most important Tourist Site in Nova Scotia because tourist must travel through all of Nova Scotia to get there and then return which helps everybody.

Find a more appropriate place for a memorial that determines how stupid man has been, and leave nature alone.
