To the Northwest Arkansas Times, its owner, WEHCO Media, and its publisher, Stephens Media LLC: We, the undersigned, are aware that the Northwest Arkansas Times is under pressure to change its longstanding wedding announcement policy. We are signing this petition to let you know that we support keeping the current policy in place. Simply put, it makes sense to only include wedding announcements for upcoming marriages recognized by Arkansas law. If the door is opened to exceptions, then there would be no end to them, and this section of the newspaper would not serve its primary purpose. Thank you for your continued service to our community.
