healthy food is essential for improving health outcomes, recovery and morale. Hospitals should be a role models on how to eat healthy and real food! Often hospitals are giving people meal plans and nutritional guidelines, yet they serve their patients the cheapest crappiest non-real food around... time for change!

It has never made sense to me why hospitals serve the least nutritious food. I have been in a position of delivering daily meals to hospital bound people that have food allergies. The hospital doesn't properly take care of these people. Ridiculous

I agree with you that proper nutrition needs to be taken seriously in hospitals. Nutrients allow us to heal, cope, and improve mood.

I wouldn't feed hospital food to pigs, and that's a fact! The meat is usually unidentifiable, and anything else is congealed, tasteless and cold.

If any location should have wholesome, nutritious food available, it should be a hospital. This would be great to see!

Yes, this should be offered in our hospital and can't believe that the chips and pop machines are still there. We are to get healthy and promote a good lifestyle!!

Thanks you for taking the time to come to our page! There is a absolutely a need for packaged food, there is no need for chemical and artificial preservatives. Many people find themselves stuck unexpectedly at a hospital and have no food with them. Mothers waiting with a child with a broken arm in the ER may not have had the foresight to pack a meal. When I gave birth to my son in the hospital at 1am, we had no food with us.
We live in an age where convenience prevails, due to the fact that many women no longer work solely in the home, and no longer have the time to have everyones food prepared.
With the shift in the norm to men and women both working outside of the home, it makes total sense that we may look outside the home for help with meals.
All of our products are all natural, and preserved only through freezing. We practice what we preach, and stand by our mission wholeheartedly.

Working in healthcare, we are able to be role models. Having the choice for nutrient dense meals available anytime of day would set a good example for clients

Why does IH need to do so much research on something so simple?

I find it deplorable that a hospital would choose the typical vending machines or healthy, alternative food choices for all.. I am from Vancouver &.recently spent 2 weeks with my elderly mother in Vernon hospital who broke her hip & has dementia.. I have a dairy allergy & could not eat any food at the hospital & had to go out for all meals & bring in healthy options for my mother who would not eat the hospital food.. Lions Gate Hospital in NV now serves Healthy Oprions for people like myself who need to eat clean food.. Why would Okanagan Hospitals not see the Benifits of this?! It's bad enough to find yourself or loved one in a hospital, give them healthy choices for their meals so they have the proper nutrition to get better or help their loved ones get better... Never mind that staff would Benifits greatly from this as well!

Good nutrition is the backbone to good longterm health; let's have our medical institutions lead the way in educating the public to this fact.
