In a bilingual province we angles see a lot of pointless injustice. Please review and help fill the world with properly graded and well trained individuals.

My sister recently wrote the OIIQ exam and received notice she failed the exam today. She graduated her program with high 80's in each course. Clearly there is a problem with 50% failure rate on a government exam.

If they were unable to clearly write an exam question, I am deeply concerned about their ability to understand our written answers.

Out of respect for the face of nursing in Quebec, this issue should be addressed with severity. It is unacceptable that such an important licensing exam not be verified for proper translation, as this may jeopardize the results of anglophone/allophone students. To think that such an ethical sabotage may have been done purposefully is unfathomable.

i asked x2 during the exam for help regarding difficulty of understanding the context and every time i wa given the french version of the exam.

Even the web page should be in English. Just because we need to know both languages doesn't mean we don't deserve the right to read it in our own language.

From a language professional's point of view, I am dismayed to hear the quality of OIIQ's English exams is unacceptable. The exam should have been edited and proofread several times by not only English-speaking nurses, but also by secondary translators and editors who specialize in the field. I hope OIIQ will revisit the English version to ensure syntax, grammar, and vocabulary mistakes are corrected for future candidates. If a licensing exam had been badly written in another language, many a candidate would be complaining about language quality. Let's not do the same thing with English. Please.
