The road in front of our school is very busy and dangerous. There is no safe area for the children to cross to get to school.

We want the children to be able to cross Dorset Road safely.

As a grandparent, I find this a busy road to try to cross to take my two small grandchildren to school. A crossing or island would make this so much safer.

A pedestrian crossing would also assist people walking from Daybrook Road to the Merton Road tram stop.

It is a really busy road to cross with young children. Merton needs to prioritise the safety of the next generation.

A zebra crossing for a school is the least the council can do to ensure the safely of children and their families going to school.

Although I’m not local I frequently drive down Dorset Road to visit friends and family and therefore feel able to support this petition

This seems like an obvious thing to do.

It's just basic common sense to prioritise children's safety over traffic speed in a residential area

There seems to be a simple solution to very concerning situation. Hopefully the council provides the solution ASAP

Always thought it was a silly place for a school, with all that traffic congestion on both roads. Young children's lungs are important.

Every day I feel extremely nervous crossing the road to Park Community School. I have an autistic son who is not as aware when crossing the road and every day there is traffic at both drop off and pick up time. It takes at least 3-4 minutes to cross as you have to navigate cars turning off from the main road, and also the bumper to bumper traffic on the opposite side leading up the the main junction. To cross you have to make eye contact with a driver, wait for them to signal to you and then cross the road. This is unacceptable and dangerous. A zebra crossing would be ideal accompanied by a lollipop lady.
