I have an important update to share regarding tuition fees for the upcoming academic year 2024/2025. The University Senate approved on the 25.01.2024 a tuition fee increase for the following programs: General Medicine: 12,500 € Dental Medicine: 13,000 € I understand that this news may raise questions and concerns. To address this, I would like to take the following steps: Open Discussion Meeting: We will organize a meeting where you can openly discuss the reasons for this decision. In case an open discussion with university representatives is not feasible, we will endeavour to ensure that your opinion is adequately represented by the student senators. The administration is finally noticing the weight behind this movement even if the road ahead feels exhausting. We have reached a point where they can no longer simply look the other way while we fight for fair tuition costs.

This is absurd. Changing it in the middle of the year and it applying to old students as well is absurd. We came here knowing the tuition is 10.500 for GM and you’re increasing it to 12.500 that is 2000 extra and for a student that’s already 2nd year the next 4 years would actually be worth more than one years rent extra. It is unbelievable especially considering that this is a public university and we’re just paying extra to study in English
This is totally unacceptable to have made this decision without earlier notice. On top of this there needs to be a payment plan put in place if this is the case where people can pay smaller chucks throughout the whole academic year . I am not in favour of this and believe that this should only apply to new students looking to apply . Another concern is that this has breached the clause of an increase of tuition fee only being by 10-15% and has come to over 15% . Appalling . The university will only offer seminars to talk about why the price has increased but will neglect to actually HELP the students in any way.
Steep hike. High stress factor. Unanticipated load on budget. Very difficult to meet.
This should only apply to people that are coming as first years and not the students that have been here for the last 2-5 and agreed to an initial lower tuition.
This decision should NOT be affecting current students who have already been attending the university, an absolutely irresponsible and greedy decision that will poorly affect students who already have made financial plans in order to continue studying for the remainder of their years, who were under the assumption that the tuition would not increase out of nowhere. If this decision was made for NEW students in the future who haven't enrolled yet it would make more sense.
I don’t agree with this not everyone can afford and also i don’t see that its worth it to pay more if there is nothing in return

I would like to share my concern about the increase fees for studying GM by 19%.
This is absurd. Changing it in the middle of the year and it applying to old students as well is absurd.
