IMPLEMENTATION OF 60%+ QUOTA FOR LOCAL MUSIC ACROSS NAMIBIAN RADIO STATIONS
As Namibian artist it is our duty to stand up and change the Namibian music industry for the better! Artist in Namibia have been working hard for too long and with your signature we have the power to make change.
The intention of a 60% plus quota implementation of local music across all NBC and other radio stations in Namibia will create a lot of opportunities and elevate the entertainment industry as a whole.
With a 90% quota implemented in South Africa recently for South African music across all stations, We firmly believe that it is only fair that South African and international artist receive less airplay on our stations as well.

I have finalized the formal proposal document regarding the local content quota and will be submitting it to the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology this week. Several radio stakeholders have reached out to discuss the logistics of this transition and I am currently coordinating a series of meetings to present our case for immediate policy reform.

The current trajectory of this petition has successfully captured the attention of broadcasting stakeholders. I am now preparing a formal proposal for the Communications Regulatory Authority to review during their next session. We expect to begin direct negotiations regarding the quota structure by the end of the week.

I regards the above matters to be implemented with immediate effect. if we cannot guarantee local is lekker who will do it on our behalf. #supportlokalmusic
I like the idea of having 60% + local music being played on all radio stations etc, but I feel we don't have enough quality music to fill the quota. Nonetheless this is a great way to start increasing the stature of Namibian music and entertainment as a whole!
It is about time! We hear enough international music everywhere else. Let local radio stations serve as the platform to showcase our raw talent.
Let us also produce quality to be liked local and international audience. Local is always the best

Its important to promote local hip hop,we should start focusing on our own artist in order to get them recognized. Play local cos its lekker
