This individual has shown herself to be unfit to represent students. Her behaviour was childish, immature and fascistic. A university is meant to be a place where truth and knowledge are pursued through research, freedom of thought and speech. Cassandra clearly rejects these values and should be impeached.

It is embarrassing that a representative of our student union would resort to such methods to prevent a person from clearly expressing their opinions regardless of how the representative personally feels. Drowning people out as by using white noise as opposed to convincing people through a thoughtful discussion is not the solution. I do not want her to represent us as students of UTSU nor do I feel she is representative of the population here and I definitely do not support my mandatory fees to UTSU funding this behaviour.

Regardless of personal opinions and beliefs a professor of authority can not use her power to limit or restrict the students shes working for and representing.

Williams is not emotionally stable and should seek counselling . Furthermore, I believe she should resign.

Although I personally am not supportive of the rhetoric Jordan Peterson is using with respect to the discussion on gender, I found the actions of Cassandra Williams (and those associated) to be inappropriate. In a position of authority, it is important to set an example for others. One which does not cause needless conflict. I am disappointed, as Cassandra's view on the matter is likely similar to mine, ergo I do support her ideas - I simply do not support her actions. I believe she is unsuited for her position on the UTSU's executive team.

I am in full support of the LGBT cause. But I cannot stand for weak student government that are biased and does not represent everyone else. I believe freedom of speech is detrimental to a modern democratic institution such as UofT. And so is freedom of expression of individuals. There is a fine line between hate speech and freedom of speech. Really now is a matter of who is more sensitive to what.

I personally am a huge fan of transgender rights. But VP Williams has clearly stepped out of line with her actions.

Freedom of speech is more important than feelings derived from PERSONAL and INDUVIDUAL insecurities

This is an absolute disgrace for someone who is trying to promote equality at a university. When there is a debate between two or more sides, it is imperative that each side gets to express their views. What kind of "leader" shows intolerance towards opposing views and is against viewpoint equality? What Cassandra showed did today on October 11 is an example of disgusting behavior that should not be condoned. University is not a safe space or a totalitarian regime; it is however, a learning environment where the leaders of tomorrow are created and viewpoints are made, shared, and debated with.

How UTSU can protest against free speech is beyond me.
