I do not believe that the UTSU VP represents civility. Regardless of which side they were on, there were many people who wanted to engage in civil discussion. The VP attempted to make this impossible, ruining the intellectual climate of university.

I'm tired of the immature tactics used by certain individuals at U of T to silence those who disagree with them. These actions only cause greater animosity between student groups and hinder productive debate.

UTSU representatives represent all students who attend the university and pay. You don't get to silence students just because you don't like what they have to say.

As a U of T student I'm sickened by the actions taken by the UTSU and their stance on this political issue. They seem to expect tolerance while being completely intolerant themselves, pure insanity.

Free Speech is not silencing others through the use of white noise, or interrupting and talking over other's opinions. Seriously. Most of these protesters hate Trump with a Passion I can reasonably deduce, and yet they resort to his same childish tactics to get their points across. The Irony is horrific, and Williams has provided proof that she is biased against true freedom of expression.
