Impact of Independence HS sharing with 3 Charter Schools

This petition points out valid concerns that definitely need to be properly addressed and if anything, those 3 charter schools should move and go find their own campuses, instead of occupying IHS property. As an IHS graduate, I think the school and the property would benefit from these charter schools moving out because having less students on campus all at once makes the campus have less problems.

This is actually a really great school to go to, when I went here. Knowing that it's going through things like this, is unbelievable and should just never happen. Signing this to make a difference.

I graduated from IHS in 2009 and the school seems like it has taken quite a beating since then. My brother currently attends IHS and I wouldn't want him to be harmed by irresponsible actions from anyone. If improvements for safety and new regulations can be made by the passing of this petition, then I'm all for it. I just want the students to be safe and be able to enjoy their school experience.

I personally don't go to Independence, but reading/hearing what could happen to the performing arts saddens me. From a musician to another.

Lack of available space will lead to conflict among all schools. If there is no room to accommodate the charters, they should not be co-located on our campus.

I have children who have attended and will be attending Independence. I want to know that their experience will be a safe one and one of being a priority on their own campus. I graduated from IHS in 1995 when we were able to practice and attend class with the normal distraction and disruption
