Due to parents driving charter students to school, the traffic is horrible and dangerous. A student was hit on Educational Park Dr. last year. Parents do not adhere to the traffic laws! U-turns in the middle of the street. Waiting to pick up students in parking lot area (not in a a legal space.)

The students of IHS deserve to have an unhindered educational experience. A single charter school is more than enough burden let alone THREE. Enough is enough let IHS be it's OWN school.

With public school's limited resources already being stretched, the state needs to find another way to pay for charter schools,

As a recent graduate of Independence High School and a former student athlete, I was faced with late night practices or game cancellations as a cause of other schools using our facilities. We would practice hard for our games and were sometimes troubled with the fact that there would be on going games of the other charter schools on our grass area. As of respect for the facilities, our grass area was trashed as well as bathrooms full of filth and graffiti. I believe that because it is Independence's campus, the board of education should prioritize the growth of Independence High School.

I loved being a student of IHS from 92-95. A huge reason for my success there was participating in sports and marching band. It's unsettling to find out that current students are not allowed the same experiences or provided a safe learning environment.

4 charter schools on Independence's campus? That's ridiculous and as a parent I would be very concerned about the safety of my children. As an alumni, I want to see the school thrive and be the best I know it can be but sharing the campus with other schools will never let them get ahead.

Independence High School should be for the IHS schools only and they shouldn't be sharing a campus anyway.

1994 Alumni - As an alumni these conditions for students, teachers and the hindrance of capacity on the security teams sounds ridiculous. I agree all students have a right to a good education but at who's expense? There needs to be a better solution for this. This is not the academic environment that I thrived in as a former alumni.

Not only is it disappointing but unacceptable. Those trying to to better their education should not have to deal with these type of conditions. My parents still live in the neighborhood and are also affected by the unruly population. They roam through the neighborhood tagging, and loitering. IHS staff, students, and parents deserve a better experience.

I am a alumni c/o 2005 and I personally think that sharing the campus with 3 charter school is ridiculous. Yes the campus is big but to have all the fights and confrontations with other students it too much for the staff to handle. I live a block away from the campus and so many things happen within the time frame when the students get off of school. I think the charter school should relocate and just keep one on the campus

We cannot allow these charters to continue making false promises to our children! They do NOT provide a BETTER education than public schools and to feed this to our communities is nothing more than lying. CHARTERS DO NOT HAVE THE CHILDREN'S BEST INTERESTS AT-HEART!!!!!!

My daughter is a freshman at IHS and has shared her concerns with me about feeling unsafe at school. At the very least the on site security cameras should work and a SJPD offer(s) should be onsite.

Parent of a senior and sophomore at Indy. I a concerned for the safety of my children with so many students sharing the Independence campus. My son who is a senior and plays varsity basketball has had to have many late nights due to late gym time. There is no security on campus at 9:30-10 pm when he is walking through the parking lot/ campus late at night

As a trustee of the Berryessa Union School District, resident of the area surrounding IHS, and IHS alumnus, I care about the well being of our students. It doesn't seem like the ESUHSD is being prudent with its use of facilities. Placing four different schools on one campus is never a good idea, regardless of the size of the campus. Please consider alternatives to this arrangement for the benefit of our students and the neighbors of IHS.

I'm a recent graduate and I hated sharing my school campus with people that didn't respect it. And future students shouldn't have to either.
