We have problem with charter school on YB campus, they don't like to share OUR parking with us and coached their students to harass YB teachers by yelling at them, putting orange cones on parking spaces, even vandalizing cars.

As an alumnus of Independence (Class of 2012), these conditions listed are unacceptable and detrimental not only to Independence, but even to ACE, DCP, and KIPP. Admittedly, Independence has a large campus, but not enough to uphold a decent campus climate for four schools. Some of these conditions (particularly with the bathrooms) have been present since I was still a student there and for these conditions to even have continued is deplorable. I also note that unless things have changed since my graduation, Independence teaches a very diverse and highly underrepresented group of students. What does it say that we're compromising the high school education and experience of this many? Once again, while I write from the experience of a former IHS student, the ones who lose here are students from each school and signing this petition is the tip of he iceberg.

The mission of Independence High School is to provide a supportive learning environment that enables all students to achieve academic and personal success. Having a bunch of undisciplined, obnoxious hooligans from the charter schools pollutes the academic environment of Independence. Too often do we see our own student needs being ignored for these schools that don't take responsibility for their students and allow them to wreak havoc on the Independence campus. It's time for the district to hold true to their promises and ensure that Independence students (who are the majority) have a safe, quiet, and productive learning environment.

Current circumstances are a far cry from the grand high school I once attended. This is down right sad.

As a former student of this school I'm shocked by this information! When I went there it was one of the best schools in ESUHD it's sad to see it decline to this level. These issues NEED to be ADRESSED and resolved to bring it back to being a safe and credible teaching institution it once was.

I also work at a local school that has been forced to share the campus with a charter school. Many of your concerns are our concerns. Decisions are made in the name of "equatability"; however, the existing school doesn't seem to matter. It's very sad and frustrating. Hopefully people will start to open their eyes and see what is really going on.

Independence isn't a bad school, i went there and loved it. Great staff, great teachers, great facilities, overall great environment, but if the district wants to share the IHS Campus, then they should fund them more money to expand the school.

It's my last year at inde but I wouldn't want to come back years from now and see the independence student population so small. It would be so sad

As an past 76'er it saddens me to the state of disrepair the school has fallen into. I know work for a low Voltage integration company and would be happy to assist in the security aspect of bettering the school for existing/future students. I.e. Security cameras.

It's unfair to us as students to have to wait until 4 when charters schools are out to use our field. Not only do we have to wait we also are limited to space of the usage of the field I would like the character schools to be moved. I understand we are a big school and it is convenient for character schools to be upon our campus but it needs to end here! Their is increase in violence due to the other schools being on our campus.

This must stop! It's affecting the studies of all Independence students. Not only them, but also the teachers. Independence Students owns the Independence High school, not Charters. So this must come to an end!

My classroom is next to DCP, during their break DCP students noise will distract my teaching and students' learning. There should be some separation between the 2 schools, so students from each school are not interfering the other.

Charter schools should fund their own buildings, parking lots, athletic facilities.
