Impact of Independence HS sharing with 3 Charter Schools

We need to resolve the existing problems first before worrying about the additional schools in need of our campus. Population is already a big issue at IHS.

I don't think it's a good idea to add a 4th school on one campus. Independence is crowded enough

I, as a student, feel threatened by the other students from the charter schools. Why must we be the only one who has to share our campus when we are in need of more classrooms and space? Why must we share our PE grounds with other schools when our students' sleep cycles are being disrupted? The B villa bathrooms have been abused so much that I would be willing to walk across the campus just to avoid using it. It reeks of smoke and is usually unsanitary, whereas the other bathrooms are not in the similar condition as the B villa bathroom is in. We need fences or some way to close them off from our students. It isn't fair. Many freshmen at independence high school are already planning to transfer to other schools due to the students at the charter schools.

Really think about the environment you want students to survive in! or do you want them to thrive in a safe environment?

Share the gym with the Independence Color Guard. They've always worked out time with the Independence sports teams. Now they've been pushed aside for the charter sports teams...NO FAIR!

Life would be ten times better if they were somewhere else. Why are we getting kicked out of our own home? During class, we could not hear our teacher due to the rally next door. They atr ruining our education and learning experiences!

As a member of multiple performing arts groups such as, but not limited to the IHS 76th Cavalry Marching Band and Color Guard, the IHS Winter Percussion unit, IHS Jazz Band, and a participant in the school musicals, I can say that not having priority to use the facilities at MY school due to other schools is slightly irritating to say the least.

Wow. I graduated from Independence High School in 2013 and I'm shocked to see what's happening. The campus has enough students on it as is and having 4 schools share the same campus needs to have better maintenance. I hope this issue is resolved appropriately.

As a student of IHS, I think we should kick out the charter schools and let them do their thing at a different place or perhaps their own school. I've heard from some of my teachers last year (sophomore year) that they were being harassed and given attitude by students from the charter schools. The staff there, as I pass by them when heading to class, seem to lack in numbers and are not doing a great job maintaining the students. Some students wander around and some even pick fights with IHS students. And yes, IHS has a history of fights, vandalism, and other sorts, but it has sky rocketed ever since the charter schools landed here, as someone mentioned.

Class of 96. Independence was already a large school with Pegasus at the time. Cannot imagine going to school there now with this chaos

I'm not surprised. My high school had lesser versions of these issues, and NO janitorial services. I learned in spite of my high school, not because of it.
