I strongly believe that Charter schools should not be sharing campus with IHS.

As a student, I feel uncomfortable and unsafe learning in this kind of environment.

Yeees ! I agree ! Finally something is said! Everything that was said is true ! I would never go to B-Villa's bathroom because I knew how bad it was, I would always find people smoking and just sitting on the floors and no it wasn't IHS students because we don't have dress code. When I played softball our practices were cut short since kipp was using our field for thier games or other activites. I don't mind sharing but it did take away days and hours where we could of practiced.

KIPP has been sharing the campus since 2008 and there has been no problems until now. The real problem is ACE and DCP who are just now coming and now also talking over KIPP is space. KIPP has always been small and give the parking lot away to a school that not even ranked like ACE, is very disturbing. Independence, Pegasus, and KIPP have to cut back on giving space to ACE and DCP. THEY ARE THE PROBLEM.

Just because this campus is large, doesn't mean that it's suitable for supporting 4 schools at once. Public school funding already has its issues. Having the district support one school and whatever accommodations the other 3 schools made without our consent just isn't fair. If these charter schools want to "expand their territory", perse, then find a different campus to grow. No one should be leeching out of anyone just for the sake of it. In addition, Independence was already a relatively unsafe place to begin with, what with the constant fights and all. But adding all these charter schools that just so happen to contain rather toxic people makes this so much worse than it needs to be. For the sake of not only ours, but the charter schools's safety and growth, there needs to be a compromise, if not a solution where they outright move somewhere where they can do whatever they want without affecting other schools.

Each charter should be held accountable for their own students/policies. Not let Independence HS absorb the bill.

It makes me worry to see my old high school so focus on outside matter than their own. It seems they care more about the money they are taking in by having the charter schools on campus than their own students and facility.
