Impact of Independence HS sharing with 3 Charter Schools

While the Charter schools and their students are also striving for their education and deserve the same as we, IHS is our school. They should not be able to take away from our education, and take up the space in our athletic programs. IHS currently has 3,000 students and up enrolled, while the 3 Charter schools have a mere 450 students each. Yet they are taking up much of the school's utilities and classrooms. The expansion of these charter schools should be stopped.

I rarely see the charters schools but my classroom is nearby the charter as students get out of their classrooms they be disruptive while I'm in third period learning, I feel like it bothers my learning time and independence should only be independent

Four charter schools are too many. Independence High, while has a lot of space, cannot accommodate that many students. Our bathrooms are often cramped with students during break and lunchtime, and it goes to show that four bathrooms are simply not enough for four thousand students, let alone four extra charter schools. Since the charter schools have started to occupy the B-bathrooms, IHS students have started to cram into 1 or 2 other bathrooms, as the B-villa bathrooms are often unsanitary and it's common knowledge that drug users often crowd in the D-villa bathrooms. The number of athletic teams that share IHS facilities is ridiculous. Eleven basketball teams on two gyms? Please do not add another charter school and consider cutting down the number of charter schools that attend our campus. If our facilities and resources become worn out, we cannot function as a school; we will be creating an unhealthy environment for everyone. It is already clear that IHS and the charter schools cannot cooperate well. I have heard several complaints from teachers about the charter school students -- they often disrupt classrooms and disrespect teachers. Since it's not THEIR school, not THEIR home, they do not show any respect for neither the teachers nor the facilities they use. As an IHS senior who has spent four years here as a second home, it's heart-breaking to see IHS withering.

i say it's unfair for ihs students to share our school because the dance classes practice real hard and suddenly charter is taking over I don't think it's very fair

When I went to Independence high school I almost got in multiply fights because of the other schools so I do agree to this

Don't mean to be greedy but this needs to be done.

After supervising our basketball games, I had to constantly check the girls' and boys' bathrooms to ensure the KIPP teacher wasn't leaving the back door unlocked in order to let students in for free.
