This man is a member of the ADF. Showing he has the bravery and the courage to defend his country and his fellow country men and women. He was carrying out proper training to keep up his fitness. Let him be the solider we need him to be.

This paragraph is what is wrong with this country. "Magistrate Sheryl Cornack expressed surprise that Latham was slapped with a charge of public nuisance — and not going armed so as to cause fear." Are you kidding me? Baden-Clay killed his wife and was charged with Murder appeals the case and is downgraded to Manslaughter with the possibility of a softer sentence. This guy was doing PT in full kit, including rank and unit patches whilst carrying RHS in the shape of a rifle. PT to maintain his currency, potentially selection into SF and then off defending our country. Then you have this magistrate saying he should have been charged for going armed so as to cause fear. What a bloody joke.

Would love to see more soldiers doing what this soldier did! I find it reassuring to see soldiers training in their own time on suburban streets. Committed to their work, committed to their community and most importantly committed to their country.

He made an error in judgements. Like the mining tax. But he was doing it for the right reasons An as a serving member who has deployed he deserves our support and understanding. Someone jumped to the wrong conclusion causing a massive reaction which reassures society their is a police response that is ready. If anything its good PR and training scenario for police who thought other was really. The soldier will have live with the embarrassment and probably military discipline should be enough.
