I think this is an over the top reaction. He is an Australian soldier training for SF selection. I'm a former Grunt of twelve years and we trained in the public's view and no one batted an eyelid, but rather were cheering us on which made us go harder. Talk to the guy and let him go... he is serving this nation and doing the job you don't want to... providing your security and freedom. End of message... OUT

This was a standard when I served in Townsville and Brisbane in the 90's. Shocked that this hard working soldier is being treated like this. It's Un-Australian.

We used to run from Vic Barracks in Sydney to Bondi in full Patrol Order every few of weeks. With SLRs/M16s , not a metal tube. Never a winge from anyone. This would never have happened if he had gone for a run at Ashgrove! Unbelievable.
