Drop all charges. Who ever reported him are not real aussies and probably 5th columnists. Who reports a serving member in training? And what police officer arrests them? Police took it too far. (If) it was an issue he should've been given a talking to. We have guys in gear run through our suburb in gear every so often in training and noone says boo. Why? The population where i live is still predominantly actual australians .....not imports, and we have respect for our serving members.

Me and my unit did this in inner western Sydney in 1987 and had one do gooder whinge. My boss told him to write to his local member and detail his objections. We didn't use training aid weapons either, they were bona fide 7.62mm SLR's. The residents of Leichardt and Fivedock applauded us as we ran and marched.

An absolutely ridiculous situation. Our Police should have more respect for our Defense Personal who are ready to put their lives in harms way for THEM.

What are the bad people doing - while we argue about the good guys? Why did he need to get fit outside of business hours? ... defence personnel serve 24hrs - 7 days a week!

The cops who arrested this man need to be arrested and charged themselves. THEY are the public nuisance and so is the person who called the police in the first place.. The cops needs to be fired in disgrace whether they were following orders or not and if they were, then we need to follow the chain of command all the way up and laying charges along the way.

Pathetic behavior from the public, police and now our courts. Shame on you all for harassing someone who is entrusted with the protection of this country.

A soldier in cams, on duty, doing PT with a training aid gets a gun pointed at his head and handcuffed. Really?
